Fashion isn’t just about good looks — sometimes it can be used to spotlight important causes.

For the second year in a row, Viera Models will hold its Glitz and Glam Fashion for a Purpose runway show to benefit Hands for Healing International. The global humanitarian relief organization is headquartered in Palm Bay. In addition to international initiatives, Hands for Healing has a local food center that feeds 400 Brevard families every week.

The Glitz and Glam event is from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18 at the Holiday Inn-Space Coast Convention Center and will feature 40 models wearing 80 different designs. Designers and boutiques from the Space Coast will be featured.

The runway models were chosen from an open call in November for both men and women ages 4 to 45. The agency considered diversity and poise when selecting the models to showcase some of the trending looks on the Space Coast and beyond.

Viera Models promises that the Glitz and Glam event will be a “high-energy fashion show” that will include choreography, live entertainment, raffles and a runway contest. Last year’s inaugural Glitz and Glam event saw more than 500 attendees and included sponsorships from Macy’s, Old Navy and Walmart.

General admission to the fashion show is $24. VIP admission is $40 and tickets can be purchased directly from Viera Modeling  at 3600 N. Wickham Road, Suite 102.
