Students at Quest Elementary School recently laced up their running shoes for a good cause. The Quest Fun Run set out to raise $20,000 toward new playground equipment, and got pretty close with pledges of $19,500. Students logged more than 19,000 laps total and their hard work will help fund a playground shade structure.
“The week leading up to the run was full of fun and character lessons brought to us by student athletes from around the world,” said Courtney Charles, president of Quest’s Parent Teacher Organization. “The immense support of our parents and teachers really helped our school succeed with this fundraiser.”
Among improvements, the money will be used to install a sun screen over the playground, reducing temperature and exposure to the elements.
