The Viera Woman's Club cleared more than $10,000 in its Swing for Charity golf tournament at Duran Golf Club Nov. 4 and Par-TEE dinner party afterward at the Tradewinds Restaurant. The General Federation of Women's Clubs affiliate split the funds between National Veteran’s Homeless Support Inc., The Children’s Hunger Project and Hacienda Girls’ Ranch.

“It was such a fun day for golfers,” said Judy DeAngelis, co-chair of the event with Eloise Lynaugh. “Prizes, prizes, prizes! Dixon Golf manned two holes providing players with challenges for charity. We also had a hole-in-one contest with a golf cart as a prize from GolfCarts Unlimited. Players could compete in a putt and chip contest as well, won by Steve Ochs. Golfers showed off skills at the closest-to-the-pin contests as well. We had great trophies and cash for winning teams.”
