Spend Valentine’s Day by experiencing love set to music at one of two free concerts featuring family harmonies.
The Ditchfield Family Singers will perform two free concerts on Valentine’s Day at Riverside Presbyterian Church in Cocoa Beach. The “A Valentine’s Gift” concerts will be held at 3:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. and will be a compilation of the family’s most popular numbers.
Led by parents Stephen and Bernice, the group also features their four adult children and two daughters-in-law. Sometimes Stephen and Bernice’s four grandsons take the stage, too.
The Valentine’s Day shows will draw from a vast repertoire of Broadway showstoppers, Big Band favorites, tender love ballads and doo wop tunes from a wide variety of styles and musical genres. The nine-member group will perform together, and in smaller solos, duets, trios and quartets. Each married couple will perform a special duet on stage.
Hailing from Sarasota, The Ditchfield Family Singers have been performing together for more than 15 years. Their Christmas concert series is the most popular and the family performs it as many as 25 times per holiday season throughout the southeast United States. Patriarch Stephen Ditchfield also performs alone and alongside his three sons Nathanael, Michael and David in the family’s “My Three Sons Quartet.”
The pair of concerts are part of Riverside Presbyterian’s Dr. Vernon Boushell Concert Series that also includes an Oratorio Concert performed by the Riverside Chamber Orchestra and Chorale on March 6, a Spring Concert performed by the Riverside Chamber Orchestra on April 3 and a Patriotic Concert performed by the Space Coast Symphony Winds & Choir on June 26.
The concerts are free, but an advanced ticket is required. Reserve one for any of the concerts by calling 321-525-7825 or go to riversidepres.org.
