Winning one championship was nice.

Two … well, that just made it even more special.

That was the case for Suntree Viera at the 2017 Brevard County Youth Football Cheer Association Cheer Competition held last month at Melbourne High.

Viera Suntree won the bantam and senior division championships.

“As the famous saying goes ... you don’t get what you wish for ... you get what you work for,” Suntree Viera bantam coach Lisell Roan wrote in an email.

“These girls poured their hearts into our routine and pushed themselves to beyond comfort zones to achieve the ultimate goal. I am so proud of each and every one of our girls. I know that they will be successful on and off of
the field.”

Members of the Suntree Viera bantam division cheerleading team are: Layla Almeida; Sofia Bevan; Mackenzie Brawner; Jenna Brewer; Emma Carpenter; Kaitlyn Clements; Emily Dailey; Makenna Dunegan; Roxie Edmonson; Regan Huelle; Megan Loui; Madison McGrory; Chole Moore; Kailey Ojeda; Kendall Pierce; Emily Potts; Ariana Roan; Sadie Starrett; Camile Terry; Faith Weaver and Naomi Williams.

The senior team was made up of: Baylee Beyel; Jailyn Plymale; Kamryn Draves; Kayleen Richman; Taylor Koshlap; Shyanne Kessler; Trinity Baker; Bailey Huelle; Mayiah Salazar and Haley Deatherage.

“My girls worked so very hard on this routine and it was not easy,” senior coach Jody Spinneweber wrote in an email. “My heart is filled with so much joy to see them get the recognition that they so deserved. I couldn’t be a prouder coach.”
