Naturally driven style distinguishes the new Salon Madeleine

Step into the new Salon Madeleine in Suntree and you immediately notice not only how great the place looks, but also how good it smells.
Lisa Purinton’s salon, which opened in November, just feels wonderful inside. That’s in large part because Purinton co-branded her shop with Aveda, a lifestyle products company considered a pioneer in holistic beauty, environmental stewardship and sustainable practices. Couple Aveda’s passion for natural, organic ingredients with Purinton’s own goal to create something unique and special for Suntree/Viera and the result is Salon Madeleine.
“The esthetic in the salon is unlike any other in Melbourne,” Purinton said.
“We are the premier Aveda lifestyle Salon in the area. We carry haircare, makeup, skin care and body care products, as well as use Aveda hair color. Aveda is a company you can feel really good about.”
With more than three decades of experience in the field, Purinton’s inspiration for the name of her salon is her family.
“Madeleine is my mother’s name and she was a large influence in my choosing a career as a hairstylist,” said the New Hampshire native.
Purinton’s mother, who passed away in 1995, also is the namesake for Purinton’s 13-year-old daughter, already considering becoming a hair stylist like her mom.
After 24 years of running a successful salon in an Ivy League, New Hampshire town, Purinton relocated to Suntree in 2017. She was unsure of what the future held for her professionally.
After getting to know the Suntree/Viera community a little better, she began to see a need for a different type of salon experience.
“My goal is to create a wellness-centered experience for guests and a business that supports the growth and development of salon professionals,” she said.
Purinton assembled an expert team of local professionals who have been part of the Melbourne beauty community for years. She has enlisted the help of seven other stylists, plus an esthetician and three salon coordinators to better serve her clients at the 2,100-square-foot salon located next door to the Metro Diner.
Salon Madeleine also provides Aveda wellness rituals such as complimentary neck and shoulder massages, hot towel treatments and hand massages, along with serving the Aveda brand comforting tea.
In addition to a full range of hair services, Salon Madeleine offers Aveda’s 98 percent naturally derived hair color, luxurious Aveda facials treatments, LED light therapy, waxing and other clinical skin care services.
“Vivian, our esthetician, is very skilled and knowledgeable,” Purinton said.
Through Valentine’s Day, the salon is offering specials that include $75 color and style and $85 color and cut. Grand opening service packages include the guest’s choice of two color services and a 60-minute facial treatment for $130 ($210 value).
“We offer a luxury experience, but we have prices to fit everyone’s beauty budget,” she said.
As Purinton explains it, Salon Madeleine was founded out of love for the craft of hairdressing, love for the gift of service, and love for the world we live in.
