Step 1: Wash the watermelons under cool running water and pat dry. Using the large kitchen knife, slice off about a half-inch from the bottom of the oval watermelon to create a sturdy base.Step 2: Use the dry erase marker to draw an outline of the Cheshire cat face, hair tufts, eyes, eyebrows, mouth and teeth. Use the channel knife and paring knife to trim away the design so the features of face begin to take shape.Step 3: Use the paring knife to cut away the outline from the top half of the carving and away from the back to create a fruit bowl. Pull away any excess pieces of the rind from the back of the carving.Step 4: Use the melon baller to hollow out the carving and have fruit to fill the carving.Step 5: From the oblong watermelon, cut a candy-cane-shaped tail from the rind and use the excess watermelon as fruit to serve or to make watermelon juice. Attach the tail to the back of the carving using wooden skewers. Attach half of the strawberry with the top removed as the nose with toothpicks and the black olives as eyes with the picks.
