Boy Scouts Troop 224 held a fundraising car wash June 13 and 15 at Gorilla Rides on Wickham Road in Viera.

The fundraiser raised money for 14-year-old Michael Stroface’s Eagle Scout Project of “making a deck” for Braveheart Properties of Brevard.

Stroface said the event was a lot of fun and that washing cars was a good way to help raise the money needed.

The troop meets weekly at Suntree United Methodist Church, according to the troop’s website, and is based out of Melbourne.

Braveheart is a “tiny home and small cottage community” in Cocoa.

“When I went there, the office, it didn’t have a deck, it had a staircase. It was in disrepair, so I’m building a deck for a safe entrance and exit,” Stroface said.
