The Duran Women’s Golf Association (DWGA) has finished off another successful year.

Lily Creighton and Gail Miller were the top winners at the group’s final award ceremony, each taking home $130 in gift cards due to their successful play this season.

“Overall, it was great participation by the members,” DWGA president Jo Johnson said. “It was my goal for the golf league to be competitive and fun, and I think it was.

“We had a very good time. We’re a good group of people.”

This year’s season kicked off in November with 42 players taking part every week until the conclusion at the end of April.

Winners of the scramble on the final day were Lin Otten, Diane Dabbs, Creighton and Mary Burngasser.

A total of $1,726 in gift cards were paid to league members this season.

“All of our membership dues are paid out in the form of gifts/prizes,” Johnson said. “Throughout the year, we pay winners in each flight — we pay three places in each flight — and we have a team event each month.”
