Viera 12U travel baseball team headed to Cooperstown

The Viera Hawks 12U Baseball Travel Team is heading to Cooperstown, N.Y., to play in a tournament June 2-9.

It’s one thing to be able to visit the National Baseball Hall of Fame. But to be able to play in Cooperstown, N.Y. That’s what is on deck for the Viera Hawks 12U Travel Baseball Team, which will take part in the Cooperstown Dreams Park and American Youth Baseball Hall of Fame Invitational Tournament from June 2-9.

In addition to playing against, and interacting with teams and players from around the country, the Viera Hawks will get to visit the National Baseball Hall of Fame, a must-see trip for any true baseball fan. Team records and photographs also will be displayed in the American Youth Hall of Fame.

Players will spend seven days and six nights in the Baseball Village clubhouses. Each team is guaranteed at least seven games and each player will receive a Cooperstown Dreams Park home and away jersey.

Making the trip for Viera will be players Luke Campbell, Lucas Glendinning, Apollos Horrell, Anthony Soehnlein, Jaden Mack, PJ Befumo, Cam Simpkins, Logan Keith, Brycen Weeks, Nolan Taylor, Aaron Brand and Dylan Jordan. The coaches are Travis Mack and Paul Soehnlein.

Though the travel team is not affiliated with the Viera- Suntree Little League, most of the kids are VSLL players.

The Viera-Suntree Little League will announce its All-Star roster for baseball and softball June 1. District tournaments start as early as June 16.
