The Washington Nationals take on the hottest teams in Major League Baseball in our own backyard this month as spring training fires up at Space Coast Stadium. Teams to appear at home games include the New York Mets, New York Yankees, Detroit Tigers, Atlanta Braves, St. Louis Cardinals, Houston Astros and Miami Marlins.
The majority of the home games will be at 1:05 p.m., with two evening games at 6:05 p.m. against the Astros on March 10 and 19. Gates open an hour before game start.
Local community leaders are urging support and attendance of the games. The team is in negotiations with other communities in Florida.
Despite the recent collapse of proposals for other sites, the Nationals have enlisted the help of former U.S. congressman Mark Foley to help find a potential spring training home in Palm Beach County.
