Frank Ackley and Mark Harrison teamed up to defeat Steve Lamontagne and Bryan Stephens 8-4 in a pro set in the men’s doubles championship in the second annual Bluewater Foundation Tennis Challenge to benefit Devereux on April 6 at the Suntree Country Club.

Lee Harrington and Susan Taylor topped Bev McCullar and Amy Gregory 9-7 in a pro set in the women’s doubles final.

Dan Honaker and Sandie Rowe defeated Dan Wooten and Liz Pinchera 9-7 in a pro set in the mixed doubles championship.

Twenty-six players participated in the event.

The event was sponsored by the Bluewater Foundation. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit Devereux, which offers a professional therapeutic environment for children and adolescents facing significant emotional, behavioral and intellectual/developmental challenges.

Pinchera, the coordinator of the tennis tournament, is a member of the Devereux council. Paul Davis, the tennis pro at Suntree CC, was the director of the tennis tournament.

According to Patty Hurst, the donor relations manager for Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health, it was a successful tournament. She thanked those that played and for helping the fundraising effort for the children of Devereux.
