The fall season translates into cooler temperatures. With lower humidity, this provides perfect playing conditions for golf.

Snowbird friends from the north have come back to Florida to enhance play for the Viera East Men’s Golf Association. The new season began Oct. 1.

On Oct. 3, 64 players were evenly divided into 16 teams playing a variable tee with two best balls.

The team of Simon Cole, David Jensen, Rick Farinacci and Gary Koch finished in first place.

The team of John McComas, Jim Robinson, Allen Satcher and Bill Hall tied the team of Jim Kopliner, John Moriaty, Tony Hines and Kerin Vetter for second place.

The team of Robbie Rosenberger, Dave Hill, Mike Schmitt and Bruce Schwanda placed third.

Robinson on No. 4 and No. 16 was closest-to-the-pin with Kopliner on No. 7 and Dennis Lamb on No. 13.

Awards were handed out during lunch at Divots Grille. Past presidents also were honored.
