There’s no shortage of fireworks for July 4

Brevard County likes to show off its patriotism and July 4 is the perfect time as Uncle Sam celebrates another birthday.

Several towns and communities on the 72-mile long stretch from the north of Brevard County to its southern tip bring out the fireworks in shows that light up the skies.

Some places have parades, picnics and races. The party can go on from morning to night.

Cocoa Beach Fireworks
Grab your chairs and head to Cocoa Beach to watch fireworks over the Atlantic Ocean.

July 4 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Sebastian’s Freedom Festival
The City of Sebastian celebrates its 47th annual Fourth of July Parade. This year, the parade will again begin at the Sebastian Community Center and the Sebastian Masonic Lodge at 1805 Jackson St. It will go east on Davis Street and south of Indian River Drive to Riverview Park. The parade begins at 8:30 a.m. Following the parade, there will be festivities in the park. Live entertainment, food, craft booths and vendors. A fireworks show will be held at dusk.

Independence Day Picnic
Join the city of Rockledge at the McLarty Park event. It features games and activities. Lunch only costs $1.

Inaugural Merritt Island Independence Day Parade
Co-hosted by the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office and the Brevard Veterans Memorial Center. The parade begins at Edgewood Junior/Senior High and goes from Merritt Avenue to Sykes Creek Parkway and ends at the Brevard Veterans Memorial Center.

9 p.m. – Fireworks
The Air Sports Parachute Team will put on a show. Several Uncle Sam skydivers carrying U.S. flags will exit from the World War II Tico Belle C-47 provided by Valiant Air Command and land on the Melbourne Causeway and in the Indian River Lagoon by the Front Street Civic Center.

Celebration with the Brevard Symphony Orchestra (BSO)
The Brevard Symphony Orchestra will put on a free concert at Riverfront Park. The concert will begin at 8 p.m. The fireworks will begin at 9:15 p.m. Bring lawn chairs or blankets. Food and beverages will be sold.

Great American Celebration
in Viera

Come out to celebrate the 4th of July with family and friends in Viera. A fireworks display is scheduled at 9 p.m. east of the USSSA Space Coast Complex (weather permitting).

Palm Bay Independence Day Celebration
The event will feature more than 25 food trucks, vendors, live music and a fireworks display. Luna Pearl will be the headline band.
