Students who sign up for multiple camps can save up to $50, Starr said. A few more camps are in the works, so interested persons should keep checking the academy website, she added.

Shining Starr Learning Academy is a hands-on, interactive learning school that welcomes students with dyslexia, anxiety and processing issues as well as neuro-typical and gifted students, Starr said.

The academy currently is taking registration for the 2017-18 school year for grades 1 to 8, and plans to add high school in the 2018-19 school year. Students who register by May 19 for the 2017-18 school year will receive a $332 tuition discount.

The mission of Shining Starr Learning Academy is to create a family environment where students are “allowed to grow on their own terms, in their own time, in their own way by building on their strengths and interests,” Starr said.

“I want to see all of our students shine,” she added.
