On June 8, a Master Plan Study for the Viera East Golf Club was presented at a workshop for the Viera East CDD. This master plan was prepared by golf course architect, Robert C. Walker, ASGCA, and provides a conceptual planning summary for consideration.
The complete 111-page study can be found at vieraeastcdd.com/news for review. The study includes sections on the course layout, course physical features, greens/putting surfaces, tees, greenside bunkers, fairway bunkers, fairways, irrigation, storm drainage, lakes/pond edges, cart paths, retaining walls, trees, landscaping and natural grasses.
The Viera East CDD has posted this statement on the master plan: “After reviewing the recommendations set forth in the golf course master plan, the board is in the process of considering the suggested improvements on a task-by-task basis. Each stage of improvement(s) will be prioritized in a manner that coincides with immediate needs, available funds and course down time. Great effort and consideration are being expended to ensure that the decisions agreed upon will offer long-term solutions to improve the playability and enjoyment of the facility for all.”
