Contemporary women’s clothing and personalized service awaits customers at the new Scout & Molly’s boutique in the Avenues. Scout & Molly’s has a friendly staff who truly care about helping women achieve the look that uniquely suits them. There’s an array of distinctly different attire to choose from.

“We want our customers at Scout & Molly’s to feel like they are shopping in their best friend’s closet,” co-owner Jennifer Mayer said. “We may have someone call and tell us they are looking for a blue dress for an event, and we will have a selection of dresses ready for them when they arrive.”

Mayer, who was once a model and enjoys shopping for clothes, says her favorite part of owning the franchise is meeting customers and helping them shop for clothes. Her talent for dressing other women made a clothing shop the perfect fit for her.

“If you don’t love it, don’t buy it,” Mayer advises women. “We want our customers to leave our boutique with clothes they love.”

Mayer and her husband knew they wanted to open a store in Viera. They just weren’t sure which one. Market research led Jennifer Mayer to Scout & Molly’s, a successful franchise that started in 2002 in North Carolina. The Mayers met with Scout & Molly’s owner and founder Lisa Kornstein Kaufman and immediately decided this was the franchise for them.

“It’s just been an amazing experience for us,” Mayer said. “When I prayed, I was looking for a door to open. We knew that if we couldn’t do it in Viera, we wouldn’t do it.”

Named after the founder’s dogs, Scout & Molly’s boutiques are decorated in warm, inviting colors, creating a relaxing atmosphere. Mayer said the Scout & Molly’s franchise was very helpful during the process prior to opening the store in March, and they have great in-house support.

“Did I think at age 55 I would start a business? No,” Mayer said. “Do I love what I’m doing? Yes. I love being on the floor with my clients.”

One popular line is the Krazy Larry pants, a top seller. Mayer says she has five pairs because they are so comfortable and cute. Other brands include Cupcakes & Cashmere, BB Dakota, n: Philanthropy, French Connection, Clara Sunwoo and Gretchen Scott.

“Our (general) goal is to carry brands that are not available in Brevard County,” Mayer said. “Women come here to shop for clothing they won’t see in another store in our area.” VV

Scout & Molly’s is open daily and is located at 2261 Town Center Ave #109. Check out their Facebook post every day for the outfits of the day.
