Jack Mahon Park’s soccer fields expand with elimination of ditch
A 200-foot ditch at the Jack Mahon Park at 7550 Spyglass Hill Road has recently been piped, filled and sodded.
“I would say it just about allows us to have another youth soccer field,” said Todd Foley, general manager of the Suntree Master Homeowners Association.
The work, which has taken five weeks, was completed before the Cheeseburger Paradise event April 30.
“For the big events, it is a much nicer space because we’re no longer restricted by the ditch any longer and you can walk along the back of our building.”
Twenty palettes of sod covered the 8,500-square-foot space, connecting it to adjacent land, adding an additional acre to the park.
