A familiar face in the Brevard medical community, Bassem Eldaif, MD, FACS, and board-certified surgical urologist recently opened the Center for Advanced Urology & Robotics providing specialized urologic care to patients across Brevard County and beyond, 6032 Farcenda Place, Suite 102, Melbourne.
Eldaif has been practicing his surgical specialty in Melbourne since 2012 at Wuesthoff Health System. Before his appointment with Wuesthoff, Eldaif was an attending staff physician at the Cleveland Clinic in South Florida, and Clinical Director of Robotic Surgery at Excela Health System in the greater Pittsburgh area.
“My vision in opening this Center is to provide specialized and advanced treatments for a range of urology conditions such as cancer of the prostate; bladder, kidney, sexual dysfunction issues, urinary problems for men and women, and kidney stones,” said Eldaif.
“Providing specialized expertise, preventative disciplines, and personalized care is the most fulfilling feeling any physician can ask for. I enjoy spending time with my patients educating them about their diagnosis and treatment choices, guiding them in the decision-making process, while addressing their questions and concerns,” added Eldaif.
Eldaif has extensive experience as a robotic surgeon dating back to his years in surgical training at Duke University. He performs DaVinci® robotic surgeries for prostate and kidney cancer, as well as reconstructive surgeries for strictures or injuries of the ureter, kidney, or bladder. He also offers minimally invasive alternatives to treat a wide range of conditions such as the Greenlight Laser and the UroLift procedures for enlarged prostate (BPH), Cryoablation for kidney and prostate tumors, and a variety of shockwave and laser therapies for kidney stones
Earning his undergraduate degree from Emory University, Atlanta, GA, Eldaif continued at Duke University School of Medicine, Durham, NC, earning his medical degree, then staying on for his urologic surgical training. He also completed his Fellowship in neurology research and Advanced Laparoscopic and Robotic Assisted-Surgeries.
