With groundbreaking already underway, the construction of a new 7,000-square-foot facility is anticipated to be completed by the holidays.
Prestige Cardiology Consultants, LLC will move from its current location at 8095 Spyglass Hill Road, Suite 105, in Viera to 1765 Berglund Lane near the intersection of Murrell Road and Viera Boulevard.
Once the construction is complete, a grand opening will take place providing tours to the general public.
The goal of the new facility is to provide a larger and more efficient space. It will provide patients with quick access to cardiovascular tests such as ultrasounds and stress tests, as well as other minor cardiovascular procedures.
“When we order a test, we want it done quickly,’’ said Dr. Hany Guirgis, the owner of Prestige Cardiology Consultants, LLC. “By having the bigger facility in the heart of Viera, we will serve the community better.”
The new building will feature two entrances.
“Once you get into the building, there will be a large reception area with multiple individuals greeting the patients,” Guirgis said. “There will be 10 examination rooms, a triage area and a conference room. The examination rooms will be larger rooms so, if a patient is sharing information, it remains private.”
Rooms will be located around the perimeter of the building and also in the central areas to ensure privacy. There will be two procedure rooms, which can either be separated or can serve as one larger room if more space is needed for a specific procedure.
“We will be doing what we call Venus Insufficiency work-ups and Ablation Therapy for patients with painful veins. Those (procedures) have to be done with clean procedure rooms rather than regular examination rooms. Our goal is to be efficient and not keep patients waiting.
“We’ll also be doing a lot of nuclear testing and echocardiograms, evaluating pacemakers, and doing active ultrasound imaging for vascular diseases.”
The facility also will have a large conference area for hosting educational talks with the general public.
“We’ll give audiovisual presentations about devices and bring samples so that patients can touch them with their hands and have a good understanding about what their doctor tells them,” Guirgis said. “It will be an informal setting where people can ask questions.”
Before the practice opens, 2,000 square feet of the building will remain in reserve. Further modifications will be made depending upon the patients’ needs. This could be rooms for imaging procedures or an auditorium, according to Guirgis.
“In Viera, we have tremendous potential for growth,’’ Guirgis said. “I want to emphasize that if people come to Viera, they will be taken care of.”
