Learn Florida-specific landscaping tips at seminar
Get gardening tips from the experts at the Florida Friendly Landscaping Seminar, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 20 at the Heritage High School Performing Arts Center in Palm Bay. Participants will learn best practices in landscaping that help reduce runoff and pollution of the Indian River Lagoon, save water, cultivate Florida-friendly practices and eliminate invasive plants and pests.
The seminar is a collaboration of the cities of Melbourne and Palm Bay, Brevard County Natural Resources Management Department, Brevard County Utility Services Department, University of Florida Extension Office-Brevard County and Indian River Lagoon National Estuary Program.
Every attendee will go home with a goodie bag filled with gardening supplies, such as hose nozzles and mud gloves, and an understanding of how to intertwine gardening practices with our unique environment. Coffee and breakfast will be provided. There will also be a plant display and sale throughout the day.
