Educators and the public invited to free ‘unconference’ of idea sharing
Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy will host the South Florida EdCamp Leadership event from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, July 11. The one-day annual “unconference” is for educators serving Early Childhood through 12th grade.
Current and prospective private and public school teachers, administrators and leaders are invited to this free event to share innovative strategies, ideas and challenges for a day of connected teaching, learning and leadership. Registration is open to anyone who would like to attend.
Each session consists of a conversation, not a presentation. According to organizers, participants are encouraged to rely on the “law of two feet” to find a session that inspires them.
“Too much of professional development today is top-down and doesn’t meet the needs to the participants,” said Catherine Koos, head of Lower School for Holy Trinity and host of EdCamp Leadership South Florida. “EdCamps are driven by educators looking to share the things that matter most to them. Being surrounded by passionate educators who love teaching is revitalizing and is the perfect way to spend a low-stress summer day.”
EdCamp Leadership South Florida will take place at Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy Lower School, 5625 Holy Trinity Dr. in Melbourne. Lunch will be provided. For more information or to register, go to midcareer.gse.upenn.edu/edcamp-leadership.
