Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy is turning to one of its own to fill a vital role at the school.
Colleen Middlebrooks, a Holy Trinity student and former teacher and coach, has been named the school’s new Director of Advancement.
In that role, Middlebrooks will lead all fundraising and development efforts for the school, including its two major events – the Vicky Hurst Holy Trinity Golf Tournament and the Evening of Elegance gala – as well as its annual fund, planned gifts, endowments, capital development and grant writing.
Middlebrooks recently served as assistant administrator for the Melbourne Terrace Rehab Center, where she provided leadership and oversight at the skilled nursing facility. She also helped direct the company’s charitable donations and served as a community liaison.
Prior to that, she spent five years as the director of external relations for The Scott Center for Autism Treatment where she managed the center’s marketing and fundraising efforts.
Middlebrooks’ history with Holy Trinity goes back to the days when she attended the school during her elementary and middle school years, prior to its expansion to grades 9-12. In addition to having served as a teacher and coach at the school, she is the parent of two current students and has severed in various volunteer roles over the years. She was the co-chair of last year’s 25th annual “Evening of Elegance” fundraiser.
“We at Holy Trinity are delighted that Colleen Middlebrooks has accepted the role of director of advancement,” school president Katherine Cobb said in a press release issued by the school.
“Her long history and passion for our school, her many years of fundraising experience, and her strong record of community involvement make her the ideal candidate to lead our school’s advancement and fundraising efforts.”
In the same press release, Middlebrooks said she was happy to be coming “back home” to Holy Trinity.
“I look forward to helping to grow the school by expanding our reach in the community,” she said. “I also look forward to connecting with current families, alumni, and community supporters to work on initiatives to enhance both the Lower and Upper Schools.”
