A new entertainment facility is set to open in The Avenue Viera by the end of the year.
According to The Avenue Viera, an Urban Air Adventure Park franchise, owned by Venkat Puskur, will move into the space formerly occupied by Sports Authority in the complex’s MarketCenter.
“We’re thrilled to have Urban Air joining The Avenue. Our goal is to continue to build our Center into the premier shopping, dining and entertainment destination on the Space Coast, not only for our local community, but for the region and out-of-town guests. Urban Air fits perfectly within that mission,” said Michelle Bujold, the marketing coordinator for The Avenue Viera in an e-mail to the Viera Voice.
The center will be called Urban Air Viera. It will encompass 38,500 square feet. The facility will have trampoline areas, a full-length bowling alley, dodgeball courts, a stunt airbag, tubes indoor playground, a runway tumble track, tubes indoor playground, laser tag, a virtual reality game and a Warrior Battle Beam.
Additionally, Urban Air Viera also will have a dining area called the Urban Café.
“We are excited to bring our state-of-the-art adventure park attractions to the amazing city of Melbourne”, said Michael Browning, the CEO of Urban Air Adventure Parks in a news release. “Residents of Brevard can look forward to experiencing our creative approach to safe and affordable family fun and one-of-a-kind birthday party packages with our state-of-the-art adventure attractions!”
Urban Air said it will hire 60 employees to work at Urban Air Viera.
There are 109 Urban Air locations nationwide that are either open or soon-to-be open for business nationwide. The company said it soon plans to build two more locations in the United Kingdom.
“We’ve been looking for a great fit to our merchant mix for a while now. We wanted a tenant that could grow with the Center and cater to the growing demographic in Brevard. Urban Air is expanding across the nation and came across our radar pretty quickly,” Bujold added. “I think both sides knew it was a great partnership the first time we sat down. Now, we’re just anxiously waiting for them to open their doors.''
The addition of Urban Air Viera will follow other changes at the complex. The complex is set to have its “Central Park” renovated and a new POP jet fountain in place in front of AMC theaters by the end of August.
