Brevard Children's Business Fair promotes entrepreneurial spirit
VIERA VOICE Jill Blue
Children were the boss at the one-day Brevard Children’s Business Fair where kids were the sole proprietor. Participants were given the opportunity to launch their own start-up businesses.
The March 30 event was held at The Avenue Viera.
The various businesses promoted skills such as paddling instruction, writing and sketching comic books, slime making, and various forms of art and painting.
These young entrepreneurs could become the next successful business leaders. Some of the items already are available online or in local shops.
The second annual event featured more than 50 businesses (25 last year) run by creative entrepreneurs ranging in age from 6 to 16. Awards were given in four categories.
The children were responsible for the full sales experience, which included payment transactions without the assistance of a parent.
Products were available during a two-hour period in the one-day market place.
