With so many new businesses popping up around the Viera area, it might be hard to keep track of all of them.
First on the list of locals is The Blind Spot, which sells a range of shutters and blinds. The Blind Spot has been in Viera for 16 years, and it is opening a new storefront at 7954 North Wickham Road, Suite 118.
“(What stands out most about The Blind Spot is) the family-oriented aspect of it,” said Jordan Bauer, a sales representative. “We want people when they walk in to feel genuinely comfortable with us, and to feel like we’re there to help with this process, and to make it as easy for them as possible. (We seek to) really cater to their needs for the types of window treatments that we provide for them.”

Just next door to the new Blind Spot storefront is The Rustic Brush, which now offers woodworking workshops of all kinds throughout the week.
“We make a variety of everything,” said Alicia Davenport, the owner. “When you pick a workshop, you don’t have to do just one thing. In the workshop, there might be several different projects going on. It’s all wood projects (except our doormats), and you (can) customize everything, so there’s just hundreds and hundreds of ways you can create a design.”
Customers also can have designs custom-made for them by The Rustic Brush.
“We (also) offer the location as a meeting place,” Davenport added. “So if someone wants to have their social group get-together for their meeting, they don’t have to do a project. And, we don’t charge for that. It’s the perfect spot.”

Within the same plaza (next to Wickham Road and Baytree Drive, near the Metro Diner) is the upcoming eatery Celo’s.
Celo’s will offer a similar menu of gyros, kebabs and shawarma-style food.
It will open in May.
Petworks is centrally located in the heart of Viera in The Colonnade Shops.
Petworks offers natural and healthier food options for pets, as well as a variety of goodies for your animals.
“I’ve been in the pet industry 18 years, and I saw that there was a need in Viera for more high-quality pet food and nutrition,” said Julia Duncan, the owner. “What I saw available was Petco and Petsmart, and they do mass-run foods. We do short-run batch foods, so it’s a little more nutritious.
“Our foods are a higher-quality nutrition, and it just makes for a healthier pet, and a longer-living pet. A healthy pet is less time at the vet,” Duncan added.
