Junior League of Central & North Brevard announces 2014 – 2015 Board of Directors
Junior League of Central & North Brevard
The Junior League of Central & North Brevard (JLCNB), a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization has selected its board of directors for the 2014-2015 league year. Ashley Hubbell will lead the league as president in the second year of a two-year term, ending on May 31.
“Last year the league made great strides in our literacy initiatives,” said Hubbell. “From donating books, to organizing a summer reading program, the JLCNB remains on a mission to improve childhood reading proficiency to ensure school readiness in Brevard. This year, the league looks to build on our literacy initiatives by continuing to identify community partners, organize advocacy events, and build upon our direct service offerings.”
Hubbell joined the Junior League of Central & North Brevard in 2009. During her time with the league she has held various board positions including communications VP and finance VP. Hubbell works as a subcontract manager at Harris Corporation, and resides in Melbourne with her husband Tyler.
The 2014-2015 executive board members serving in addition to Ashley Hubbell include, Stacy Slaughter, president-elect; and Alysia Lee, immediate past president. Vice presidents serving on the board are Tammy Rickard, communications; Julia Deptula, community; Laura Anne Pray, finance; Sara Leidich, finance-elect; Amy Sequeira, membership; Janet Tamborini, sustainer
advisor; and Elizabeth Becker, parliamentarian and nominating.
This year, the JLCNB plans to remain present in the community with its “Beer and Cheer” spring fundraiser, “Kids-in-the-Kitchen” program, “Reading Rock Stars Program” to support children’s literacy skills during the summer months, and annual scholarships to support first-time college students.
