Uptown Art & Cuisine event makes debut
Chris Conneen has big plans for the upcoming Uptown Art & Cuisine event scheduled for Nov. 9 at The Avenue Viera.
Pizza Gallery & Grill will be the surreal sponsor for the inaugural Uptown Art & Cuisine event. It’s scheduled for 5 to 11 p.m. Nov. 9 at The Avenue Viera.
The musical groups Hot Pink and Absolute Blue will entertain the crowd. The works of local artists, chefs and breweries also will be featured.
More than $5,000 in prizes and give-aways will be offered, including the Golden Knot Giveaway where one lucky guest will receive a golden knot in their order of World Famous Garlic Knots each day.
This will happen for 30 days prior to the Uptown Art & Cuisine event.
At 8 p.m. Nov. 9, Pizza Gallery & Grill will draw a lucky winner from the 30 golden knot certificates. The winner will receive a Royal Caribbean Cruise for two.

Do you remember where you were in 1989?
A young entrepreneur named Chris Conneen was opening his first restaurant — Pizza Gallery in Downtown Melbourne.
It was 12 years later, at its fifth location on Wickham Road, when the name was changed to Pizza Gallery & Grill. Fast forward another 18 years and Pizza Gallery & Grill has become one of Brevard County’s favorite local restaurants.
Conneen said he is blessed beyond words and time really does fly (30 years) when you are having fun. With community involvement and support at the forefront of its company values, Pizza Gallery & Grill has given more than $5.5 million philanthropically to organizations such as Brevard Public Schools, Brevard Rescue Mission, Lead Brevard, Promise in Brevard, Space Coast United Soccer, Viera Suntree Little League and Suntree Viera Youth Football.
Then, there are the outside-the-box donations such as 23,000 diapers donated to Pregnancy Resources, more than 40,000 pieces of baseball equipment taken to a Dominican Republic baseball outreach and more than 5,000 free pizzas given to individuals who received CPR certifications.
