The road to the Little League World Series got a little tougher for the Viera-Suntree Little League All-Star Majors baseball team on Saturday as Georgia rallied from a one-run deficit to score a 2-1 victory in the Southeast Regional tournament.

The loss puts the VSLL into an elimination game against Tennessee Sunday at 1 p.m. in Warner Robins, Georgia.

Jonah Peacock tripled and scored the lone run for the VSLL in the first inning when Georgia’s catcher couldn’t hold onto a third strike against Finn Goldinger.

However, Georgia would get a home run in the second, then get the go-ahead run on a fielder’s choice in the fourth.

The VSLL would threaten in the bottom half of the second, getting runners on second and third with two outs, and had a runner in scoring position with one out in the fourth, but could not get the big hit when it needed it.

Peacock had two of the VSLL’s six hits. The other four hits went to Micah Cheatham, Mikey Minarik, Austin Marshall and Deaglan McBride.

Minarik got the start for the VSLL and struck out five in 4 1/3 innings while giving up two runs on three hits. Evan Lipski followed Minarik and allowed one hit and struck out one in 1 2/3 innings of work.
