Space Coast United Soccer Club coach Timothy Michaud has been named the Region III Girls Recreational Coach of the Year and is one of just four finalists for the US Youth Soccer National Girls Recreation Coach of the Year.

Michaud, who has been coaching at SCUSC for the past four years, was named the Florida Youth Soccer National Girls Recreation Coach of the Year this past August.

He works with Space Coast United’s 8v8 and 3v3 teams, progressing from a novice to being invited to join the competitive coaching staff for the 2015-16 season.

Michaud’s 8v8 team won the Phoenix Recreation Cup and his 3v3 team went undefeated in the Rachel Price Tournament outscoring opponents 38-6.

“Tim’s dedication, passion and enthusiasm is so contagious,” parent Teresa Huskisson said in a release put out by the club.

“By the end of every season, not only (do) the girls love soccer, but their families, too. He motivates each girl to achieve what at the beginning seemed impossible.”

The US Youth Soccer National Recreation Coach of the Year will be announced in January. As a regional winner, Michaud has been invited to a US Youth Soccer Coach workshop in Baltimore.
