Viera’s Nixon named Class 7A, District 12 Player of the Year again

Viera High senior Tre Nixon, who leads Brevard County wide receivers with 47 receptions for 819 yards and nine touchdowns, was named the FACA District 12, Class 7A Player of the Year for the second year in a row.

Viera High senior wide receiver Tre Nixon has been voted first team wide receiver and Class 7A Player of the Year for District 12 by the Florida Athletic Coaches Association (FACA) for the second year in a row.

The vote was comprised of coaches from all Brevard County schools that make up the FACA District 12.

Nixon was one of 14 Hawks to be honored.

Others named to the first team were quarterback Hayden Kingston, wide receiver Alex Cabrera, defensive end Marco Foreman, linebacker Brandon Mays, cornerback Trevor Merritt and safety Jamyson Boyd.

Hunter Ulrich was named all senior team offensive tackle.

The list of players named honorable mention were: safety Evan Cruz, cornerback Malek Folston, defensive tackles Justin Harrison and Matt Martorelli, running back Brennen Deplancke and kicker Tre Schaneville.
