Rain forces postponement of Viera’s district softball final

Kiana East is a big reason why the Hawks have a good chance to get to the FHSAA class 7A final four. That trip is going to be delayed a little bit, however, after the district final against Harmony was postponed until Monday.

Thursday night’s scheduled Class 7A, District 6 championship softball game between Viera and Harmony has been rained out.

It has been rescheduled for Monday at 7 p.m. at Viera Regional Park.

The Hawks (23-1) advanced to the title game with an 11-0 semifinal win over Heritage, while Harmony defeated Melbourne 21-15.

A victory Monday night would mean the Hawks would host their regional quarterfinal on Wednesday. A loss would mean Viera would have to travel.
