Viera High's Brooke Walsh (No. 10) has been named the Florida Dairy Farmers Class 4A Player of the Year.

Brooke Walsh had a high school soccer career to remember.

And now you can add one more honor to the list.

The Viera High senior has been named the Florida Dairy Farmers Class 4A Player of the Year. She is also one of five finalists to be named Florida’s Miss Soccer.

Walsh scored 30 goals and had 25 assists for the Hawks this past season. A member of two state championship teams at Viera, she has signed to play at Lipscomb University next year, where she will be reunited with her older sister, Jordan.

“I’m so honored and excited to receive this award,” Walsh said. “High school soccer has been such a fun journey for me and has left me with amazing memories.

“I couldn’t have done it without my coaches and teammates. I’m so blessed to have been a part of such an amazing program for the last four years.”

In addition to the two state titles, Walsh was part of the 2016 Viera team that was ranked No. 1 in the nation by

This season, the Hawks reached the Class 4A regional quarterfinals, where they lost to eventual state champion Montverde Academy.

“I am so proud and excited for Brooke to win this award,” Viera coach Cal Dixon wrote in an email. “It is most definitely deserved. Brooke has been fantastic for us all year. This is just a testament to the work that she puts in on a daily basis.

“As a captain, she leads by example on both the practice field and game day with her relentless work ethic and quality of play. Brooke is the definition of a true student-athlete as she also graduates with a 3.9 GPA.

“We will definitely miss Brooke going into next season, but I know that she will be doing great things and, hopefully, winning more of these types of awards as she reunites with her sister, Jordan Walsh, at Lipscomb University. We know from experience that Lipscomb will be very lucky to have both Walsh sisters on the field at the same time.”
