It was just the kind of performance the Viera-Suntree Little League 9-11 Baseball All-Star team needed.

Facing elimination in the best-of-five District 2 championship tournament Sunday morning, the VSLL defeated Eau Gallie Little League 10-0 in four innings at Rodes Park.

The win forces a fourth game in the series, which will be played Monday night at 6:30, either at Crane Park, or back at Rodes Park. The location will be announced on Monday.

Blaine Werkeiser came up big for the VSLL on Sunday, throwing a two-hit shutout.

Offensively, the VSLL jumped to an early lead to put pressure on Eau Gallie. Nick Cunningham led off the first inning with a single. After Derek Galluzzi walked, Dominic Deligato drove in a run with a single and Jack Park followed with an RBI double. A Blaine sacrifice fly brought home the fourth run of the inning.

Overall, the VSLL had 12 hits with Park and Cole Carroll each have more than one. Kian Crockett had a double in the third inning and was followed by a Kealan Townsend RBI triple. Carroll had an RBI single and Andrew Cincimino also had a single in the inning.

Viera also had a good day on defense as Galluzzi made a diving stop at first base and then tagged the bag for the out to end the inning. An inning later, Galluzzi made a nice catch on a line drive up the line.
