VSLL All-Star season begins Saturday

Published:

The Viera-Suntree Little League All-Star season is about to kickoff.

Tournaments for a number of different age groups begin play on Saturday, including the VSLL Senior baseball team, which will play the Eau Gallie Little League at 11 a.m. at Viera Regional Park.

Because there are only two teams in District 2 this season, the VSLL-Eau Gallie Seniors will play a best-of-five format.

Also scheduled to play Saturday and Sunday at the Suntree fields next to the Suntree-Viera Public Library will be the VSLL Intermediate (50-70) team, which will play the Greater West Melbourne Little League. Both games are set for 11 a.m. That series will also be a best-of-five.

The VSLL 8-10 baseball teams will be playing at Rodes Park in West Melbourne on Saturday. The VSLL Gold face South Beaches Little League at 9 a.m. while the VSLL Green team plays Palm Bay at 11. There will also be action on Sunday, but that will be determined by Saturday’s results.

Softball’s 8-10 division kicks off on Saturday at Rodes Park with the VSLL facing Eau Gallie at 10 a.m. The winner of that game will play Sunday, also at 10.

Other VSLL teams will begin their district play next week or later this month.

The 9-11 softball team, a combination of VLL and Eau Gallie players, has already clinched the district title because there are no other teams competing this season. There will be no Seniors softball tournament because no teams entered.
