Merritt Island becomes the third OMNI Healthcare COVID-19 test site in Brevard County.
COVID-19 virus testing and immunity testing are now more accessible to residents living in north, central and south Brevard.
OMNI Healthcare, a multi-specialty physician group, will open its third COVID-19 test site in Merritt Island at 255 North Sykes Creek Parkway. Beginning this Wednesday at 1 p.m., OMNI employees will provide COVID-19 drive-through nasopharyngeal swab and finger stick immunity testing.
Patients interested in being tested can make appointments by calling (321) 802-5515 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
“To meet the growing demand for testing, our organization continues to expand our service to the community during this pandemic,” stated Dr. Craig Deligdish, Medical Director at OMNI Healthcare. “Patients from Orange, Seminole, Indian River, St. Lucie and other surrounding counties are making the drive to get tested.”
“Our Merritt Island location will help facilitate access to these tests, providing essential workers the answers they need to get back to work.”
Testing hours at the OMNI Merritt Island facility will begin as follows:
Wednesday, April 29, testing begins at 1 p.m.
Thursday, April 30 - Friday, May 1; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Weekly, Monday - Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Earlier this week, OMNI Healthcare partnered with Parrish Medical Center to open a second testing site at the Parrish Health and Fitness Center in Titusville.
"We already have almost 300 people that have been tested," said Natalie Sellers, Parrish Communications Specialist. “We are looking forward to just testing as many people that want to be tested.”
OMNI’s first drive-through testing center located at 1344 S. Apollo Blvd in Melbourne, has administered over 10,000 nasopharyngeal swab tests and close to 2,000 tests for immunity.
Only patients previously tested for the virus will be eligible for the finger stick test. Patients will be given the option of being tested for the virus and the antibody. Testing will be billed to third-party payers. Patients without insurance will receive testing at no charge.
