Bryan, a senior who only started running cross country two years ago, finished 57th in the girls race with a time of 20:11.

The boys, meanwhile, finished 19th overall, one spot above last year’s finish.

Sam Shaffer led the way for the Hawks, finishing 56th in 16:54. Jeremy Dean was next, placing 101st with a time of 17:22. They were followed by Ryan Miller (125th) in 17:43.20, Richard Cupoli (126th) in 17:43.90 and David Quigley (127th) in 17:47.

Alex Krestan placed 138th in 18:00 and Rudy Valentin came in 142nd in 18:02.

“The season has been long and tough but rewarding as well I got to watch these athletes change from boys to men and from girls to young women,” Viera boys coach Ron Abel wrote in an email.

“They have trained so hard night and day and saw the rewards with top honors at districts a second place finish at Cape Coast a third place finish at regionals and with their finish today. It's been a pleasure coaching all of these athletes and look forward to another successful season next year.”
