Molly Bryan and the entire Viera boys team are going to the state cross country meet next week.

Bryan, a senior, came in fifth at Saturday’s Class 4A, Region 3 girls race at South County Regional Park in Boca Raton, while the Viera boys earned their trip to Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee with a third-place finish.

Sam Shaffer placed 11th for the Hawks in 17:05. Ryan Miller (17:20), Jeremy Dean (17:22.66) and Richard Cupoli (17:22.86) swept the 20-22 spots for the Hawks.

David Quigley finished 28th in 17:35 while Alex Krestan was 38th in 17:50 and Rudy Valentin placed 62nd in 18:26.

Bryan, meanwhile, crossed the finish line in her race in 20:05 to qualify for the state meet as an individual. It’s a perfect way to end her cross country career.

Anna Martin was the next-highest finisher for the Hawks, coming in 60th in 23:11. Abbi Liddle was 77th in 24:12, Melinda Schmitz placed 95th in 26:36,32, Alexis Eastburn finished 96th in 26;36.80, Stephanie Schiller was 99th in 27:47 and Raena Karl was 100th in 28:29.
