Viera High’s Isabella Babilonia made a little history on Tuesday.

The senior cross-country and track standout committed to UCF, which would make her the first female from Viera to get a scholarship to run at the Division I level.

Molly Bryan, a 2015 Viera graduate, ran for Florida Atlantic as a walk-on.

“I chose UCF because I admired the team chemistry and the impact the coach has had on the team,” Babilonia wrote in a text. “It’s a young team with a lot of potential, so to be a part of that is exciting to me.”

Babilonia will be joined at UCF by Viera teammate Alexa Baker, who has agreed to be a preferred walk-on.
