Viera High Softball seeks donations to replace golf cart

The Viera High softball team needs your help.

Coach Dale Pierce said the team has to raise $3,500 to replace a golf cart that was recently stolen from a shed at Viera Regional Park.

As part of an agreement to use the park as its home field, Viera is required to maintain the field. That’s where the golf cart came in.

“This was my only way to drag the field and do other work at our field,” Pierce wrote in an email. “Most of the sports at the school count on money raised by the team to buy equipment and things used by the team. We are at the beginning of the year, and we have no money to replace the golf cart.”

Pierce said he needs to buy a gas-powered cart because of the weight of the equipment used to drag the field.

Donations can be made to Viera High School Softball and can be dropped off, or mailed to the school at 6103 Stadium Pkwy, Melbourne, FL 32940.

“We could use any help we can get,” Pierce wrote.
