Viera High cross country has strong finish at Titusville meet
The Viera High boys and girls track teams turned in a strong performance at the Titusville Terrier Race this past Saturday.
The varsity boys finished third, just eight points behind first place and three behind second. Sam Shaffer was the Hawks’ top runner, finishing fifth overall in a time of 17:10. The big news of the day for Viera was that Alex Krestan, who moved up from JV to varsity, had a time of 18:14. That beat his previous time of 18:51.
On the girls side, the varsity finished 15th out of 18 teams. Anna Martin was Viera’s top finisher, crossing the line in 23:26 which placed her 45th out of 145 runners.
The JV boys took top honors, placing five runners in the top 15 including Jordan Episcopo, who won the race in 19:00.
