Jake Buck, shown here during an earlier tournament, threw a complete game and drove in two runs to help the VSLL Big League Baseball team defeat Port St. Lucie 2-1 during the sectional tournament. Unfortunately for the VSLL, it lost two of three games and was eliminated.

Caleb Smallwood had three hits and drove in three runs. Bill Moser had two hits and two RBIs. Brady Janssen had a hit and drove in two. Murphy, Eric Allen and Madl each had an RBI while Carson Janssen, Kaye, Macguire Agno, Allen Joe Veltri and Madl all had hits

The next day, the VSLL All-Stars took an 8-0 into the middle of the third inning but committed 8-0 errors and wound up losing to Palm Bay 14-12 in seven innings. Smallwood was 4-for-4 in that one. Veltri and Zach Taylor both went 2-for-4. Murphy, Moser, Madl and Kaye were on the mound.

The team returns to play Monday, July 6 in Palm Bay against either South Beaches or Beachside.
