The Viera/Suntree Little League 11-12 baseball team hit 10 home runs -- including six in a row -- on the way to winning the District 2 championship.

Talk about a fireworks display.

The Viera/Suntree Little League 11-12 All-Star baseball team captured the District 2 championship Tuesday night by clubbing 10 home runs in a 15-5 victory over Palm Bay East at Max Rodes Park in West Melbourne.

The game was essentially decided in the bottom of the fourth inning when the VSLL hit eight home runs – six in a row – to blow it open.

JT Smith went 3-for-3 with two home runs and four RBIs. Cole Teply and Brett Anderson also homered twice and Joshua Mack, Peter Petracco, Liam Samuels and Sean Rodney also hit a home run.

Petracco got the win, throwing two hitless innings while striking out four.

After going 5-0 in district play, the VSLL advances to the Section 2 tournament, which will take place July 25th at Max Rodes Park against The first game is set for 10 a.m. against District 17 winner Fort Pierce.
