Pool play is over and the Viera/Suntree Little League 11-12 All-Star baseball team is undefeated.

Next up, bracket play.

The VSLL defeated Palm Bay East 11-1 in four innings on Monday at Max Rodes Park in West Melbourne. Cole Teply went the distances, striking out eight batters. He was also 2-for-2 at the plate and hit a home run to right field.

Declan McDermott and Brett Anderson each had two hits.

That victory came on the heels of a 17-1 victory over South Beaches. Matthew Valdes and Ethan Huffman were dominant on the mound, combining to strikeout 12 while allowing just one hit.

The VSLL offense, meanwhile, was unbelievable. Not only did it collect 15 hits, but seven of them were home runs, including two each from Peter Petracco, Liam Samuels and Teply. Joshua Mack also went deep.

McDermott, Petracco and Samuels all had three hits.

The VSLL won its pool, going 2-0 and outscoring opponents 28-2. Bracket play will begin Friday night at 6:30 against a point that has yet to be determined.

The team will also play at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Both games are at Max Rodes Park as the VSLL All-Stars go for the District 2 title.
