The Viera/Suntree Little League All-Star 9-10 Gold team overcame a number of obstacles this season. It just couldn’t get past Eau Gallie.

After beating Palm Bay East 8-7 on Tuesday night to reach the District 2 championship game, the VSLL lost to Eau Gallie 13-3.

Jack Malatino went 4-for-4 with an Ian Kalra went 2-for-3 with two RBIs to help the VSLL get past Palm Bay East. Skyler Raley had two hits and Lucas Glendinning had a double.

Ryan Lewis added an RBI triple and Chandler Burger had a hit and an RBI. Tyler Costin also had a base hit for VSLL, which scored seven runs in the third inning.

Cole Smith and Glendinning got the job done on the mound for the Gold with latter striking out the side in the final inning.

That win put the Gold into the title game against Eau Gallie.

Jack Malatino had two of his team’s seven hits for the VSLL. Raley had a hit and an RBI and Dylan Jordan also drove home a run.

Glendinning, Smith and Kai Aravena all had a hit and scored a run. Costin also had a base hit.

After trailing 2-0, the Gold tied the game in the second and took a 3-2 lead in the top of the third before Eau Gallie erupted for 10 runs in the bottom of the inning.

That ended the season for the Gold, who had a nice postseason run.
