Dentist brings calm, comfort to new office

Dr. Kristina Galligan and her son, James, cut the ribbon during a party to celebrate the opening of her new dental office.

Suntree’s newest dentist Kristina Galligan hopes to create healthy smiles in a high-tech office that offers individualized care in a calm atmosphere at

Galligan Dental.

"I care about my patients, value their time and treat them like family," Galligan said. She offers digital and low-radiation X-rays, digital televisions in exam rooms and calming additions such as low lighting, blankets and pillows, stress balls and aroma therapy.

"I want to build long-lasting relationships by developing trust and providing extraordinary care."

She moved to be closer to family, although she was born and raised in Florida. Galligan, 33, has served Brevard County in Palm Bay for six years and decided to open her solo practice at 7954 North Wickham Road. Open for two months and already boasting 125 patients, a ribbon-cutting was held Oct. 14 with more than 70 people attending.

Guests included several fellow Suntree dental practitioners. "It’s a big achievement to open your own office," Dr. Andrew Langston said. The oral surgeon moved two years ago to an office nearly across Wickham Road. "If I have a patient without a general dentist, I’ll refer them to her, and I can do implants for her patients," he said.

Dr. Carl Jones, an orthodontist at the nearby Brevard Orthodontics, said he’s pleased to have another dental office nearby. "I’m glad to see a new business coming in here. I think it’s the first since the pandemic started," he said. He works with Galligan’s patients who need root canals.

Jones said the new office is "well thought out." The 1,750 square feet includes a reception area, four examination rooms, an operating area, offices, and a sanitation/medication room. The practice has a front office lead and dental assistant.

Galligan and her husband Tim have three children — James, 5; Katherine, 2 and Olivia, nine months.  Born in St. Augustine and raised in Jupiter, she is an alumna of the University of Central Florida and Nova Southeastern University College of Dentistry.

Her son James, Galligan said, loves her new office. "He wants a cleaning every day," she said, laughing, ruffling his hair.
