Retirement life is golden at new Sonata East

Multiple gourmet dining venues. Wine bar. Terraces. Theater. Varied entertainment options. Fishing pier. Technology lab. Award-winning golf course nearby.

That tempting combination of amenities, and more, will be available to the active senior residents of the new resort-style Sonata East at Viera, adjacent to Sonata Viera.

Even though the luxury facility is slated to open in late summer or early fall of 2021, interest in reserving one of the 88 well-appointed apartment homes has been brisk since the complex, which also includes 30 Serenades memory care units, recently started accepting reservations at its newly opened Leasing Center.

The new community, located at 4206 Breslay Drive, dovetails with the neighboring Sonata Viera to encompass everything residents will want or need at different stages of their lives.

"The expansion allows us to create a full continuum of care all on one campus; providing all residents the perfect lifestyle regardless of their needs with independent living, assisted living and memory care," said Shelley Esden, the chief operating officer of parent company Sonata Senior Living, based in Central Florida and operating exclusively in the state.

Sonata East’s design has even taken into account lessons learned from the pandemic.

"Sonata East at Viera has intentionally created a master design that will include many safety and technology features that have been developed through what COVID and quarantine has taught us," said Bridget Perers, the regional director of business development.

Additional features will ensure residents can remain socially connected to their friends and family.

"The newest innovations in safety and technology have been thoughtfully integrated into the design of Sonata East at Viera and to promote the independence, health, connectivity and wellness of our residents," Esden added.

Adjacent to the Viera VA Outpatient Clinic, Sonata East should prove popular with veterans, particularly since the facility is offering significant discounts to retired members of the military.

Golf carts can whisk residents to nearby Duran Golf Club or to shopping and the movies at The Avenue Viera. For folks who prefer letting someone else do the driving, scheduled transportation also will be available.
