Viera Heart & Vascular's new facility set to open

Dr. Hong Jeong is delighted that Viera Heart & Vascular is moving to a new facility.

With its clean, sleek and modern appeal to go with tones of blues and grays, Viera Heart & Vascular’s new facility will open its doors to patients in mid-August.

The newly constructed 9,000-square-foot building, constructed on a two-acre parcel, is located across from the Walgreens at the intersection of Murrell Road and Viera Boulevard. It is on the south side of Viera Boulevard at 1706 Berglund Lane.

"When you walk into the door (of the new building), there will be a reception area and a waiting room," said Candace Dematos, the patient care coordinator.

"The facility will also have two nursing areas, 10 exam rooms, an ultrasound room and two procedure rooms."

The building is owned by Curaplex, LLC, which is located at 8095 Spyglass Hill Road, Unit 105.

Dr. Hong Jeong, a Florida Gator who graduated from medical school at Virginia Commonwealth University, specializing in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology, will practice in the larger, 4,500-square-foot medical suite.

"Interventional cardiology is the sub-specialty of cardiology that uses catheter-based techniques with fluoroscopy to treat coronary artery, valvular and congenital cardiac disease," according to

Jeong and his staff will offer appointments, consultations and office-based vascular laser procedures in the office.  For hospital-based cardiac and other procedures, Jeong is affiliated with Viera Hospital, Cape Canaveral Hospital, Holmes Regional Medical Center and Wuesthoff Melbourne.

The building has a common area and two attached 2,250-square foot suites, which will be leased to future medical tenants.

Also featured in the new facility is a conference room, where Jeong conducts seminars for the community to create awareness about heart disease and teach about the causes of and the procedures to treat heart disease.

Some of the vascular procedures performed include Laser Venous Ablation, Sclerotherapy and Ambulatory Phlebectomy, in addition to peripheral vascular procedures, such as Peripheral Vascular Intervention, Ankle Brachial Index and Carotid Ultrasound according to

Jeong performs, "angioplasty, atherectomy, and stents . . . implantation of pacemakers, automated implantable cardioverter-defibrillators, transesophageal echocardiograms, cardioversions, and nuclear stress tests," according to the website.
