Newest Melbourne Seafood Station rocks boil baskets

The Viera location, co-owned by Nick and Naomi Moon, is the fifth Melbourne Seafood Station restaurant to open in Central Florida.

At Melbourne Seafood Station in Viera, customers are clamoring for the new restaurant’s Signature Boil Baskets.

Located south of The Avenue Viera at 7171 Lake Andrew Drive, Suite 102 — the site of the former Burger 21 — the casual-style restaurant offers wild-caught seafood that’s boiled or steamed, never fried.

Of the 10 Signature Boil Baskets offered at the Viera location, three are among its most popular: lobster tail, snow crab and shrimp; snow crab and shrimp; and lobster tail, scallops and shrimp, according to manager Emily Howard.

Boil baskets come with corn, potatoes and garlic toast. Guests can add rock shrimp, sausage or peeled shrimp and mild or spicy seasoning with Melbourne Seafood Station’s renowned garlic sauce for an extra fee.

The restaurant’s shrimp Build a Bowl meal also is a big seller, Howard said. Diners can choose from 12 seafood, sausage or chicken items, two of seven sides — soon to be eight when the Viera location adds mac and cheese — and mild or spicy seasoning. Build a Bowl meals come with garlic toast and garlic sauce.

The Viera location, co-owned by Nick and Naomi Moon, is the fifth Melbourne Seafood Station restaurant to open in Central Florida. Other locations are in Melbourne, West Melbourne, Indian Harbour Beach and Hunter’s Creek in Orlando.

Menu items include shrimp, shellfish, crab and lobster baskets, seafood or lobster lover meals for two, a variety of sides and a la carte items such as sea scallops, grouper, red snapper, salmon and cod, oysters by the dozen or half-dozen, family feasts, and a kids’ menu featuring shrimp with pasta or rice and chicken with rice.

Guests can eat indoors in the dining room or outdoors at a covered patio area. Takeout also is available.
