ROTC/JROTC luncheon

Nineteen military cadets from local high schools and the Florida Institute of Technology were honored by the Military Officers Association of America Cape Canaveral Chapter.

The Military Officers Association of America Cape Canaveral Chapter honored 19 military cadets from local high schools and the Florida Institute of Technology for their leadership and academic achievements.

MOAACC held its annual luncheon April 10 to honor the cadets from ROTC, JROTC, Sea Cadet Units and Civil Air Patrol Squadron. The cadets were from most of Brevard County's high schools, including Viera High School and Rockledge High School.

Each of the cadets received a MOAA medal, a framed certificate and a $400 award from MOAACC’s JROTC medal grant program.

The MOAA Medal was created by the Military Officers Association of America to recognize leadership and the academic achievements of ROTC and JROTC Cadets.

It is presented annually to selected individuals who have good academic standing; are of high moral character; and who have exhibited a high degree of loyalty to their unit, their school and their country.

In addition, they have demonstrated exceptional potential for military leadership as a member of the Reserve Officers Training Corp or the Junior Officers Training Corp.
